YOUTH GRANT

YOUTH GRANT

The development of young people in Fiji over the years has been characterized by a working partnership between Government and Civil society organizations that have taken a keen interest and played their part in the development of our young people. In recognizing this partnership, Government has initiated the provision of a Voluntary Youth Organization Training Grant to support civil society initiatives in the area of youth development.

Though the YWCA and the YMCA were the initial groups that had set up youth movements, various civil society organizations such as the Fiji Girl Guides, Fiji Scout Association, St John Ambulance Brigade as well as the youth wing of faith based organizations have been active players in developing programs for youth. Provincial administrations through the Provincial Youth Councils have also accommodated and addressed issues affecting youth in their respective provinces.
