COLLABORATION KEY TO YOUTH SUCCESS: HON. SAUKURU.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Jese Saukuru, was invited by Rev. Iliesa Koroi of Namoli Methodist church to address the youth as they concluded the one-week youth program known as MYF week on the Methodist Church of Fiji calendar.
In his address to the youth of Namoli, Hon. Saukuru highlighted the importance of youth in society, noting that 32% of Fiji's population falls within the 15-35 age range. He emphasized the need for parents to be vigilant against drug abuse youth and encouraged the community to show compassion towards those in need.
Hon. Saukuru also discussed the theme of the 2024 International Youth Day, focusing on the Digitalization pathway for Youth Development. He urged the youth of Namoli to utilize their digital mindset for the betterment of society and to avoid activities that could cause harm.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry's main aims of Youth Development and Sports Development, urging the youth to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Ministry, including the currently open grant application closing on July 12th.
Expressing gratitude to Rev. Iliesa Koroi for his work with the youth of Namoli, Hon. Jese Saukuru emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, religion, and the community. He encouraged the youth of Namoli to work together towards achieving greater things in the future, sharing his own personal story of overcoming challenges during his high school days.
