                                                                                     CALL FOR APPLICATIONS


Applications are invited from interested young people to join the National Youth Band for the 2021 training year.
The aim of this programme is to train musically inclined young people with skills in music to enhance opportunities and employable skills for their improved livelihood. This programme is part of the Ministry's holistic development programme to promote sustainable development and secure employment opportunities.
The National Youth Band training programme is an equal opportunity programme and is open to all young people who meet the following listed criteria:

CRITERIA:

  • AGE : 15 - 35 YEARS
  • QUALIFICATION: PASSED FORM 6 or FORM 7 LEVEL EXAMINATIONS
  • SKILLS : ABILITY TO SING/ DANCE and/or PLAY ANY MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
  • KNOWLEDGE OF ARTS AND DESIGN ABILITY TO READ and/or WRITE MUSIC KNOWLEDGE IN COMPUTERS
  • OTHERS : BE OF GOOD CHARACTER
  • BE MEDICALLY FIT
  • HAVE A CLEAN POLICE RECORD
  • BE ADVENTUROUS AND WILLING TO TRAVEL
  • BE A TEAM PLAYER
  • COMMITTED TO THE PROGRAMME AND AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS AND AFTER HOURS

HOW TO APPLY:
Collect the "Application Form" from the nearest Ministry of Youth and Sports office or download from the Ministry's website [www.youth.gov.fj] and complete and submit with:
1 passport photo, copy of birth certificate, 2 written character references and school results and/or updated curriculum vitae

CLOSING DATE:
All completed applications must reach the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Office, Nasoqo House, Gordon Street, Suva before 3pm on 20th January 2021.
