The President Naughty Boyz Car Youth Club;

Members of the Club;

Invited guests, friends,

Ladies and Gentlemen

Bula vinaka, Namaste, Salaam Aleikum, and good afternoon to you all.

It is my pleasure to be with you today and be part of this Charity Event. First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge your creativity, innovation and effort in forming this club. You can certainly create a stronger network not only for charity but to promote road safety and safe driving.

Fiji’s death toll now stands at 31, compared to 27, in the same period last year. This is indeed alarming and we need such drivers, who are dedicated to good courses to harness and promote road safety for motorists and pedestrians. As taxi drivers, you service members of the public regularly and you have the best opportunity to create awareness on road safety and other related issues.

I have been informed that you distributed food rations after TC Winston and have visited Charity homes in Lautoka and Suva to assist the needy. Your efforts complemented Government’s in promoting equal citizenry and inclusiveness and today, we are here raising funds in aid of Dilkusha Home in Nausori. I believe this assistance will go a long way, in providing residents of Dilkusha a brighter future.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has been reaching out to unreached youths, in rural, remote and maritime areas. The Ministry wishes to assure urban youths that we provide equal opportunities for them and we hope to strengthen out networks so they can effectively contribute to the economic development of our nation. Urban youths are envisaged to venture into entrepreneurship, create business opportunities, and ultimately create employment opportunities for their peers. It is our commitment to help growing clubs and individuals succeed.

I again challenge the Naughty Boyz Car Youth Club to keep innovating ideas and activities that will help youths, motorists and nation-building. I wish this charity event and Dilkusha Home the very best.

Vinaka vakalevu, Dhanyavad, Shokran and thank you all very much.
