The Ministry of Youth and Sports continues to develop youths in Fiji. Today, the Ministry Permanent Secretary Mr. Meli Nacuva officially closed a one-week empowerment training program at Raiwai, aimed at providing valuable information and empowering youths on the impact of Drugs and HIV.
Mr. Nacuva expressed his honor to stand before the participants and stakeholders, highlighting the enlightening and empowering experience that the past week has been for all involved.
The program included sessions on the effects of Drugs and the types of Drugs available in Fiji, as well as the devastating effects of Drugs presented by St Jiles.
The Substance Abuse & Advisory Council worked tirelessly to educate youths on the effects of Drugs on Human Health and the services available to them.
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) training focused on the reproductive system for males and females, diseases affecting the reproductive system, causes of HIV AIDS, and its effects. Lifeline Fiji provided information on the services available to youths in times of need.
The ANZ Money Minded Program taught valuable skills such as saving, budgeting, distinguishing between needs and wants, planning for the future, and assertiveness. The week concluded with a Customer Service Training facilitated by Poly Tech, Nabua.
Mr. Nacuva commended the dedication and commitment of all participants, emphasizing the importance of the knowledge and skills gained during the program. He encouraged the youths to use their newfound skills to make a positive impact on society as future leaders of the nation.
