ADEQUATE INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIRED TO SUPPORT ASPIRING ATHLETES; MINISTER SAUKURU

Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will continue to invest in sports facilities across the nation to create an enabling environment for sporting success.
The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon.Jese Saukuru, while officiating as Chief Guest at the opening of the Ba Netball Club Competition last Friday (21.07.23), emphasized the importance of providing adequate infrastructure and resources to support aspiring athletes in their pursuit of excellence.
Teams from both ends of the Ba River stretching as far as Nadrugu, Navala and Balevuto, Toge on the other side and villages along the coast to as far as the Ba and Tavua border namely Natunuku and Vatutavui converged at the Ba Market Grounds for the opening.
The Ba Netball Association, which has been revived after a lapse of three years, is a center for training programmes, coaching clinics, and talent identification initiatives. It will also host local, regional, and national netball competitions, attracting teams and players from diverse backgrounds to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.
"The Ba Netball Association Club is a testament to the passion and dedication of the netball community in Ba," stated Minister Saukuru. "It will serve as a breeding ground for future netball stars and a platform for fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship”.
The event saw the attendance of prominent officials, distinguished guests and enthusiastic members of the netball community.
Hon. Jese Saukuru expressed his delight at the establishment of the Ba Netball Association Club. He commended the efforts of the Ba Netball Association and its stakeholders for their tireless work in making the club a reality.
