MINISTER SAUKURU STRESS OUT THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION.

The Minster for Youth and Sports Honourable Jese Saukuru highlighted the importance of formal and informal education while speaking at Namosi Secondary School during the Namosi Under 19 "Vakacirisalusalu" at Namosi Secondary School yesterday (23:06:23)
While addressing the students of Namosi Secondary school, Minister Saukuru thank the Students, Teachers and parents for their hardwork and also thank them on behalf of the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the Coalition Government. The Minister also thank the students for their contribution towards their Vanua.
Speaking to students of the Namosi Secondary School at the School Hall, Hon. Saukuru said sports has been identified as a major remittance earner for the country and many sports personnel have seen its benefit while playing their trade overseas.
"Sports is not bad. While it helps with keeping you healthy, it is also a source of income for many in the Country," he said.
Minister encourages students to pursue their dreams in their respective sport and maximize their potential for a secure future. Use sports to advocate against the use of drugs in sports and for leisure and lets all contribute to a sporting future free of drugs in any form.
"Your active participation and engagement at community level is also important elements towards youth empowerment," Minister Saukuru Said.
Minister Saukuru said that failure is part of life, but one must never give up in their pursuit of their goals and dreams. He further stated that choosing the right path, hard work, and dedication leads one to a successful and fruitful life.
The Principal of the school shared his appreciation to the Minister saying that this was a historical event for the school as this was the first time that a government Minister has visited the school. 'We want to be involved in relevant programs run by the Ministry and your presence here today is a historical one for the school and the people of Namosi'

Minister for Local Government and Housing Hon. Maciu Nalumisa and the Permanent Secretary of Youth and Sports Mr. Rovereto Nayacalevu was also present at the event.
