A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation of the Republic of Cuba today in Suva (19:04:23)
At the signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Headquarters in Suva this morning (19.04.23), the Minister for Youth and Sports Hon.Jese Saukuru expressed his gratitude to the Cuba Ambassador to Fiji H.E José Manuel Galego Montano for the opportunity to partner with the Republic of Cuba in areas of Youth and Sports Development in Fiji.
Under the MoU, Republic of Cuba
Agree to foster, promote and strengthen technical assistance in the development of sports programs and physical education programs and activities in correspondence with the law of the both country.
The Ministry shall engage, collaborate, coordinate and work with Republic of Cuba to Fiji to contribute to the exchange of sports delegation, experts, coaches and specialists in the field of Physical Education and Sports Development and its applied science.
Hon. Saukuru said that as a mandate, the Ministry is positioned to develop youth and sports in Fiji and hence such partnerships are important.
Minister acknowledged His Excellency José Manuel Galego Montano for the ongoing support to Fiji, through initiative like Youth and Sports Development in Fiji.
In response, Ambassador Montano thanked the Minister for the opportunity to meet and discuss a way forward enhancing engagements between our two nation.
