Minister for Youth and Sports to open Nadi International Airport volleyball tournament.

Minister for Youth and Sports Honourable Laisenia Tuitubou will officiate at the Nadi International Airport Volleyball Tournament on Saturday 29th September 2018.

The tourney which is in in Thirteenth year will be held at the Namaka grounds and will feature 205 business house teams from 80 organisations.

In a communication to the Minister for Youth and Sports, tournament organiser and president of the Nadi International Airport Sports Committee Mr Joe Gray said that the tournament has grown from strength to strength since its inception.

“The tournament is into its 13th year of success and is now dubbed the biggest corporate sporting tournament in not just Fiji but the South Pacific,” said Mr Gray.

The tournament raised $15,000.00 for WOWS Kids Fiji last year and hope to raise more this year for the children affected with cancer.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports promotes values and social cohesion through national sports development. Tournament such as the Nadi International Airport Volleyball Tournament helps bring about a healthy, vibrant and physically active nation at a domestic level and promote health and wellness through partnership- based programs.

This aligns to government’s aspiration for a healthy nation through sports and exercise and living healthy to reduce the growing number of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The tournament will begin with a ‘Tarakoro’ featuring the ‘Laughing Samoans’ on Friday 28th of September and a full day of tournament on Saturday.
