Suva, April 26 – The Ministry of Youth and Sports will distribute and attend to the needs of all youths in Fiji regardless of their socio-economic or other background.

Minister for Youth and Sports made these comments while visiting Fijians of Solomon descent at the Wainaloka settlement in Ovalau last week.

“The Ministry will serve the interest of all young people across all communities in Fiji,” said Minister Tuitubou. “We will ensure that we distribute our assistance evenly despite one’s race and location.”

Hon. Tuitubou donated some basic gardening equipment and seedlings to kick start an income generating project for the youths in Wainaloka.

“I commend you all for all the activities you have conducted around your community and in Levuka Town over the past years and I hope this assistance will help you develop your livelihood you’re your community,” said Hon. Tuitubou.

Youth leader Jone Gagalia said; “We are so grateful to have our Minister to visit us here in our village and for the assistance provided to us.”

“This assistance will surely help generate some income for our families and also make us healthy,” said Jone. “We often carry out community work at Levuka town and today, we believe our efforts are being recognised and we thank the Youth and Sports Ministry for its kind assistance.”

Hon. Tuitubou was also in Gau and inspected the sports facility currently taking shape in Sawaieke.

“Work is still in progress for the new and specially designed sports grounds in Sawaieke, Gau, and Government is looking forward to completing this project to help develop sportsmen and sportswomen alike in Lomaiviti,” said Hon Tuitubou.
