Suva, February 05 – The Fiji Muslim Youth Movement last night received stationary and a multi-media projector worth $2,000 from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
While handing over the assistance at the Fiji Muslim League headquarters in Samabula, the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou said that the donated items should be used to further the capacity building programs undertaken by the Youth Movement.
“Since we last met, we got your request for this equipment to enhance your youth club especially in the community and the Ministry did not turn a blind eye because we believe in inclusivity, we can say that whatever is being given today by the government can be used by the Fiji Muslim Youth Movement to further your efforts in developing your young people.
“The donation today is a token of appreciation from the Ministry in recognition of all that you try to do for your youths and although it may look small, it is a demonstration of gratitude from the Ministry on behalf of the Government for what the Fiji Muslim League has been doing for young Muslims,” said Minister Tuitubou.
He iterated to the members of the Fiji Muslim Youth Movement that Government treated all requests which were forthcoming from youths with urgency and diligence.
“We are here tonight to give you this item because Government is inclusive towards all youth groups, all faith based youth groups, provincial youth groups, all youth groups situated in the maritime islands and those based in the interior of the highlands we respect all the requests that comes in and treat them with urgency,” said Hon. Tuitubou.
“We hope that this donation will surely uplift your youth club and increase the standards of all you have planned to be conducted for the Fiji Muslim Youth Movement,” he added.
Fiji Muslim Youth Movement general secretary Imran Jannif said that the donation would improve the leadership workshops being conducted by their youth movement.
“This is an auspicious occasion for us and we are indeed grateful to the Fijian Government for increasing the level of accessibility for a small youth group like ourselves to the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” said Mr Jannif.
“The multi-media projector will surely enhance and the quality of our program facilitation in the future as we strive to contribute to the formation of our future leaders through our youth camps and workshops.
