Utilize Seeds of Success: Sania

 

Sigatoka, January 29 – The newest batch of trainees enrolled at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Nasau Youth Training Centre in Sigatoka were reminded to practice the Seeds of Success (SOS) program.

Acting Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports Mr Josefa Sania, while officiating at the closing of the Seeds of Success training for the 41 new trainees at Nasau, said that the SOS program was suitable for youths in Fiji.

“The ministry carefully chose you based on the prospect each of you possesses to become successful in your respective fields and I want to encourage you to continue to strive for excellence in all your endeavours as the Seeds of Success Training you have undergone sets the platform for your prosperity.”

“The development of young Fijians is paramount to what we hope to achieve as we provide programs such as the Seeds of Success to target and address youth related issues,” said Mr Sania.

Mr Sania added that government would continue to invest in the empowerment of young people especially those in rural areas.

“Government will continue to invest in the empowerment of young people especially those in the rural areas as we seek to alleviate the negative mindset of young people by appealing to your positive nature.

“We will continue to identify means and dispense the necessary tools to enable our youth populace become stable resourceful citizens of this nation, for in time you will have to shoulder the responsibilities of our country as you become leaders in your communities,” added Mr Sania.

Rupeni Qalilawa, 17, of Vanuadina village in Tailevu was thankful to have gone through the SOS training as it taught him the benefits of positiveness.

“As a student with Special Needs, I am ready for the challenges and the Seeds of Success (SOS) training held this week has really prepared us well for the academic year and especially when we return home,” said Rupeni.

“Through the SOS I have learned to always remain positive and that I can be successful despite the challenges of life,” he added.

Mr Sania also told the trainees that; “The Seeds of Success training should help steer you to do right, use your time wisely, stay positive, make wise decisions and stay focus on your goals.”

“May I reaffirm that the things you have learnt this week are vital values that you should treasure in order to achieve success,” added the outgoing permanent secretary.
